Priapus Toxin uses botulinum toxin to relax the smooth muscle of the penile shaft. The aim is to allow more blood into the tissue at rest, which most patients notice as greater fullness in the flaccid state. The effect is temporary, it builds over weeks, and it cannot be reversed once given.

Risks, side effects and reversal

Risks

  • Botulinum toxin cannot be reversed. Any unwanted effect stays until the body clears it, usually within three to six months.
  • Excessive dose can reduce erectile rigidity temporarily.
  • Bruising, bleeding or infection at the injection sites.
  • Rare spread of toxin effect beyond the treated area, causing weakness elsewhere. Seek urgent medical advice if you develop swallowing, breathing or widespread muscle weakness.
  • The evidence base for this use is limited, so the approach is best described as emerging rather than established.

Common side effects

  • Tenderness and mild swelling for one to three days.
  • Small bruises at the injection points.
  • A gradual, not immediate, change over two to six weeks.
  • Return to baseline as the effect wears off.

Correction and reversal

Botulinum toxin cannot be dissolved. The dose is deliberately conservative at a first treatment for that reason, and the effect resolves on its own, typically within three to six months.

What is Priapus Toxin?

Botulinum toxin placed into the smooth muscle of the penile shaft in small, measured doses. Relaxing that muscle is intended to allow more blood into the tissue at rest, which typically shows as greater fullness in the flaccid state rather than a change in erection strength.

How long does it take to work?

Botulinum toxin acts gradually. Most patients notice change from around two weeks, with the fullest effect by six weeks. It is not an on-demand treatment and it does nothing on the day.

How long does it last?

Typically three to six months, after which the muscle recovers its normal tone and the effect fades. Repeat treatment is a choice rather than a commitment.

Does it treat erectile dysfunction?

It is not a treatment for erectile dysfunction on its own, and no outcome can be promised. Where erections are the main concern, assessment usually points to medication review, the P-Shot, or investigation of an underlying cause first.

Is it painful?

Topical anaesthetic is used and most patients describe brief pressure rather than pain. Some tenderness for a day or two afterwards is normal.

Can it be reversed?

No. Botulinum toxin cannot be dissolved or removed, so any effect stays until the body clears it, usually within three to six months. That is why the dose is kept conservative at a first treatment.
